FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Answers about quotes, prices, payment, documents, transport and changes. Entry rules are general information — always confirm with official sources before you travel.

Booking and quotes

Use the Plan My Trip form, the enquiry form on any package, or WhatsApp. Tell us your dates (or how flexible you are), who’s travelling, your rough budget and what you’d like to do. We usually reply within one working day.

Yes — most trips are custom. Our packages are starting points; we can change the length, hotels, activities and destinations, or build something completely new.

Yes. We plan for families with children, groups of friends, chamas, wedding parties and companies. Group quotes depend on numbers and room sharing, so tell us as much as you can.

Packages and prices

Each package page lists what’s included and what isn’t. Typically included: accommodation, the meals stated, airport or station transfers and the listed excursions. Often excluded: flights or train tickets (unless stated), park and conservation fees, drinks, tips and travel insurance. Your written quote is the final word.

We publish a price only when hotel and transport rates are confirmed. Until then, packages show the planned itinerary and we quote for your exact dates, which is more accurate anyway.

We quote in Uganda shillings, Kenya shillings or US dollars, as agreed with you. Because exchange rates move, each quote states its currency and how long it is valid.

Payment

Once you approve your written quote, we send an invoice with the deposit, the balance due date and the accepted payment methods. See our Payment Policy.

We will only ask you to pay into the accounts shown on your official GeoGrants invoice. We will never change payment details by a WhatsApp or text message alone — if anything looks different, call us on the number on this website before paying.

Travel documents and entry

Kenya’s 2025 immigration regulations exempt citizens of East African Community countries, including Uganda, from the electronic travel authorisation for visits of up to 180 days. Rules can change, so check official sources before you travel. Read our documents guide.

Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda accept valid national IDs for travel between them. Expired IDs have been refused at borders, so check the expiry date. Some airlines may prefer a passport — confirm with your airline. A valid passport is always the safest choice.

Kenya may ask travellers arriving from Uganda for proof of yellow fever vaccination. Carry your certificate and check current requirements with your airline or a travel clinic.

Transport and accommodation

Flights from Entebbe reach Nairobi in about 1 hour 10 minutes, and there are direct flights to Mombasa. Coaches from Kampala to Nairobi take around 13 hours. Between Nairobi and Mombasa, the SGR train takes roughly 5 to 6 hours. Compare the options.

We offer three levels — Value, Comfort and Premium — and name the exact hotel in your quote once availability is confirmed.

Changes and cancellations

Yes, subject to our Booking and Cancellation Policy and the rules of the hotels, airlines and parks involved. Some items, such as certain flight tickets, may be non-refundable — we tell you before you confirm.

We strongly recommend it. Good travel insurance covers medical costs, cancellations and lost belongings. Ask us if you need help finding cover.

Accessibility and special requirements

Yes. Tell us what you need in the trip planner — step-free rooms, ground-floor access, medical or dietary requirements — and we’ll check with hotels and suppliers before you book.
